The new Gap logo. A calculated move? Or just off target?

There’s a whole lot of controversy going on in the design community from the latest Gap logo redesign. But, why? Is it because of its familiarity? It is their strong brand presence? Is it the twenty-somethings screaming the loudest? It IS the only Gap logo they’ve ever known. Don’t companies have the right to evolve or change? Are they just simply off-target?

 I just received notification today that six of my logos will appear in the upcoming 2011 release of LogoLounge Master Library Vol. 3, Shapes and Symbols.

I’ll say it again. It would have been cheaper to use a designer.

A Florida high school that is now being sued by the Chrysler corporation for illegally using the well-known Dodge Ram mark for their school mascot. It would have been cheaper to use a designer – really.

Why you should trademark your logo.

There you are. You’re ready to start your own thing, hang your shingle and be your own boss. You’ve finally got everything in place and you need to have a logo designed, put it on the website, business cards, etc. And get your logo trademarked.
