Today, I thought I would have a little ‘show and tell’. This week, I received a package from my uncle containing a very interesting and nostalgic piece of family artwork. You see, my great grandfather Nels was a commercial illustrator that worked for one of the many Northern California fruit packing label companies back in the early portion of the 1900s (seems kinda weird to say it that way now).
Just released: a new wine label for Brian Arden Wines. This particular logo redesign was part of an overall branding and identity project for Damion Hickman Design.
Another lettering assignment. This time it’s for a new vintner with the name of Zelos. The name ‘Zelos’, or Zelus in Greek mythology personifies dedication, emulation, eager rivalry, envy, jealousy, and zeal. The English word “zeal” is derived from his name. So, I had a chance to really interpret the name with the character of the letterforms and I really think there was some good variety to choose from. The project was for a client of Damion Hickman Design.
